More incredible events from IndyHub! They are doing a series called “Hello Neighbor” where they bike with a group to a local Indianapolis neighborhood and give us all a tour of the area: what activities there are to do in the neighborhood, what big projects are going into the area, home tours, etc.
I was able to shoot two of these tours, and first up is the Garfield Park neighborhood:
…….
We met at the Cultural Trail office, biked together through the city on the trail, through Fountain Square, and about a mile off of that, we arrived at Garfield Park.
Each group paired up with a Garfield Park resident to get a tour of the park, its theater, and its greenhouse.
We headed to the Circle City complex on Brookside Ave. right off the north side of Mass Ave. This old building (which they informed us on the tour is the size of the Chase Tower — the tallest building in Indiana — if it were on its side!) is being renovated into a seriously awesome space full of restaurants, offices, a brewery, maker’s room, etc. And the best part: a bike lane is going to go through the middle of the whole thing.
We biked through Cottage Home & Woodruff Place and headed to St. Clair Place to check out a home for sale in the area.
Growing Places Indy farms gardens near the Legacy Center we checked out while picking fresh tomatoes to eat;)
